I almost forgot about
The experience of walking into the woods.
Was I barefooted
Or with shoes?
It doesn’t matter,
For I was greeted
By the dance of falling leaves;
Inviting me to rest with them,
And decompose
Into the earthly ground
I found myself
Transcending-
Perhaps just peering through
The language barrier
Between me and the blooming flowers,
And my kiss became memories,
Clinging on as
Morning dew on a dormant leaf,
Hoping to evade
Evaporation.
